When we think of Egypt we think of the great pyramids. The pyramids are really burial tombs for those who died in that time. Along with the preserved bodies, were some precious belongings. What would you have buried in the tomb with you?

Sciende Fiction

This weeks story is about a boy who has never been to Earth. Of course it is a Science Fiction story. What kind of clues, in this story, would you look for to tell you that a story is Science Fiction?

1800's Education

The 1800's was a time of change for the early settlers. Life appeared to be getting easier for them. Education was becoming important for the children. It would have been their ticket to a better life. Education consisted of Reading Writing and Arithmetic. The 3 R's, (Reading, Ritin and rithmatic) Older students would assist younger students and all would be in the same classroom. Write what you think a typical day would be like for you if you lived in the early 1800's. Include your school day and home duties.

Dinosaurs

The story we are going to read this week is about dinosaur fossils. What do you think made the dinosaurs become extinct? What animal today do you think resembles dinosaurs the most? And, what would have been your favorite dinosaur?

The Universe

This week's story is an expository nonfiction about the Universe. We will learn a lot of facts about the Universe. Tell me one fact and one opinion about the Universe that you already know.

6 Weeks

Well everyone, we are into the 6th week of school. Is that just the hardest thing to believe? If there was one thing you could change about these 6 weeks what would it be?

"Stop" and be a friend with someone

The last three weeks we have focused on friends. Old Yeller, was about an animal friend who gives his own life to protect his friend. Mother Fletcher's Gift centered around an older lady who was different in color and economic background, but was just like anyone else, and needed a friend for the holidays. Viva New Jersey introduced a young girl who had no friends and after finding a puppy she found someone who had a lot in common with her.
Finding friends can be easy or the hardest thing you have ever done. There is a new kid in school. How would you make them feel comfortable and become friends with them?
